The Feds consider it a controlled substance and it IS illegal despite what addicts and drug dealers in California might want.
The Supreme Court has by now ruled recently that IS within the Feds jurisdiction to protect us from the interests of addicts and dealer.
Don’t vote to re-elect Obama – problem solved. The federal government has authority to enforce federal law even in the State of California. Marijuana is a controlled substance below Federal Law. If California legalizes marijuana, the Federal Government can arrest and prosecute all growers & suppliers in California. In fact, they can also arrest anyone who possesses marijuana. But, Obama’s policy is to not enforce Federal law as regards marijuana in the State of California.
Personally, I do not have a strong opinion either way as to whether it is legal or illegal. But, you do raise a skilled top. Those states who have deemed marijuana to be illegal will now have an even harder time enforcing these laws. Although marijuana is quite common, legalization will increase the supply, and decrease the cost. Thus, it will be even cheaper and simpler to obtain than cigarettes.
You are confusing a citizen of the United States, with that of Citizens of The State of California.
The Fourteenth Amendment is NOT the contolling law, it is really Article 1, Section 10 (Right to Contract). In additional words, all 14th amendment “persons” have contracted themselves into the social security entrust by signature. Do you know that over 2/3 of hs teens report simple acces to marijuana, compared to less than 1/3 that have simple access to alcohol and tobacco??
